Zombie News No.16

When the zombie apocalypse does descend upon mankind, what will you do? It's a question any fan of zombie flicks and the like has always asked themselves and their friends while chugging a cold beer and shooting coffee cans with a 22 pistol. It's an interesting debate as to what the best strategy might entail, but really it all comes down to timing and luck. Speaking of timing, next week is a major release week for the videogame industry. The videogame gods who gave us Grand Theft Auto at Take Two Interactive and Rockstar San Diego are releasing their western epic Red Dead Redemption next Tuesday May 18th. The hype around RDR has increased in the past few weeks and its owning the spotlight right now. Gamers are also going to be treated to Alan Wake for the 360, Split/Second for PS3 and 360, and a new Prince of Persia title for both systems. If that's not a stacked release day I don't know what is. Let see what the news has to offer.

Game News

Dtoid boys have posted a preview of the returning FPS series Medal of Honor. Look out peeps this could be a sleeper hit.
Modern Warfare 2 is getting a second map pack (5 NEW maps) set to hit Live on June 3rd. Another $15 down the IW toilet.
Lost Planet 2 reviews are in. IGN, Dtoid, Gamespot aren't too impressed. But OXM gave it an 8. Meh.
Gamespot gives us a first look at Bulletstorm. Read about this one in my Game Informer and it has a good pedigree of developers and support behind it. Should be good.
Alan Wake DLC on July 27th. I like to see the early release of DLC, keeps the juices flowing.
Joystiq gives us Dead Space 2 Impressions.

Cool Stuff

App of the Dead for iPhone and Android market. Zombify your friends! This app supports Romero's upcoming flick (had no idea) Survival of the Dead releasing May 28th.
Red Dead Redemption Launch Trailer. Oh yes. Can't wait.

And that's the news zombie lovers! See you next week!

  1. That..looks...bad..A$$!! I love the western theme, Gun would have been one of my favorites if it wasn't so damn buggy. This one is on my list though.

  2. @Mobias - I am right there with you. I never would have thought I would be so excited about an old-western game. This is going to be a blast. Will you play this on 360 or PS3?
